Membership Report:
Membership Chair, Len Vadala would like to
develop a survey to explore innovative approaches to attracting members. He cited a need for increased publicity to
the print community. Tactics he suggested
include enlisting the aid of students to help publicize the club. “Once engaged in our organization, their
participation may lead to even greater levels of involvement”. Existing members must see the importance of
aggressively recruiting and sponsoring new members. We can also consider reaching out to past
members. An additional, secondary e-mail
list could be used as an effective tool for targeting new member
prospects.
President Shine noted that Tim Dalton and Donna
Farrell have expressed their willingness to assist Len in making contacts with
prospective members. At the upcoming
Print Week Program an application package will be given to every guest. Len will also be positioned to greet every
guest and avail himself to field any questions about our organization. As an added incentive, sponsors of new
members that evening will be awarded a bottle of wine.
Old Business: Paul
Lamendola noted that invoices will be sent out shortly to renew sponsorship ads
on our website.
Al Zowada will be representing our chapter at the
IAPHC Mid-Winter Meeting February 18-19th.
The board had approved the budget for this expense.
Barb Pignato will e-mail those members that have
still not paid their annual dues.
President Shine will also compose a letter to be sent to those members
in arrears.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
