President’s
Report: President Shine welcomes our membership to the
beginning of a new Craftsmen year. While
acknowledging that our NJ Chapter will likely become smaller, as has the size
of our industry, President Shine reminds us of the greater importance of learning
and sharing. This will certainly make
us all more valuable to both our industry and respective companies.
We are also reminded to leverage our membership as part of an International
Organization. New enhancements at IAPHC include Quark Alliance
programs and Bridges Certification, with more to come. Members should visit our International website
at www.IAPHC.org, where announcements
pertaining to our NJ Chapter can also be accessed.
Treasurer’s
Report: A report was submitted by Marty
Levinson and accepted by the board.
Membership Report: Committee Chair, Len Vadala noted further progress
being made to enlarge our database, and he reiterated the need to provide
him with additional contacts. Mario
Benvenuti reported some very positive feedback from prospective members
resulting from his initial networking activity. The committee will request
a “new member benefit package.” from our international headquarters.
Telephone Committee:
Tim
Dalton reported that he plans to meet with Barb Pignato
to review the Telephone Committee List.
Education: George Olear has advised the
board that no students have reapplied for scholarship funds. Therefore, as per the motion passed by the Board,
there will be no additional scholarships for 2005-2006.
Website: With regard
to website hosting, Tim Dalton noted that final touches are being worked
on for an IAPHC co-branded “website builder wizard.”
This enhancement will enable us to effectively transfer our existing
website to IAPHC while maintaining www.njcraftsmen.org
as our domain. Bill Van Jura has
agreed to investigate this option further.
In the interim, the existing website will be available.
